Why is allowing users to use html in non-forum specific areas bad?
So I'm interested in allowing people to post things like animated GIFs in other people's members areas as visitor messages, however to do so I have to click the setting "Allow HTML in non-forum specific areas".
It says this is strongly not recommended.
Why is this bad? As you can tell I'm a newb with computers.
Is there any other way to allow users to post animated gifs in member areas without enabling HTML?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
