This behavior is by design now, and cannot be changed without modification. Unless they changed it in 4.0.2. Personally, I see no problem with it; we can press "go advanced" if we really need to.

There's at least one mod floating around that adds all kinds of bells and whistles to the quick reply, almost doing what you want to do.
