I suggested it because the hack author knows best about their hacks and therefore can help you better. Anyway, in theory, when you uninstall a hack all the edits made should be reverted automatically, no need for a re-install of your board. Did you get any errors during the installation and de-installation of the hack? Does it add codes to the templates? if it does, check the template that it has edited and remove it manually then.
