It is getting hard to keep up with all the post here already. Let alone trying to support third party code in this thread.
The whole point of having an event forum, Was to have a forum/forums for your events to be posted in. Mixing event threads in with the other threads may cause a lot of issues since in an event forum this rewrites the title and also the first post is hidden and replaced with the calendar bits. Which is the whole reason I will not include it. I see it causing many issues.

Whilst I can see what you and Ted are both saying.
I must side with Ted on this issue, I will explain why.
Our membership are divided into joiners and idealists.
We have members happy to post events that the "membership" can join in on, and others that are happy to join in on those and discuss them in that thread.
Hence these 2 mods work seemlessly.
But !
Big BUT. We are integrating this into heavily trafficked forums, where our "idealists" post threads suggesting events !
This now means they cannot do that, and so for that reason, we have to now duplicate our event forums.
Hope that makes sense. FWIW it does the task tremedously, and I can fully understand the issue of not supporting multiple hacks and re-jigs.
But for "moi" I would like the opportunity, for our users to "suggest" events in the normal manner, of "new thread" within same forum architecture and location.
