I realise AME doesnt require HTML. I also understand the vB talking points
regarding not using HTML and the security issues involved in why not to do it.
My point is really simple...lots of forums use AME. Thats fine. Im sure it works fine.
But its a big clunky plain box in the middle of a post. Im simply seeking something
thats a little more refined and attractive. JW Player fits what Im after, only it requires
HTML or JAVA.

Actually, there's a couple of things I think you're still missing.
The box is just the default way people use AME. It's not required, can be turned off and videos can be resized globally or set left and right just be editing the templates. You can even word wrap if you wanted to. The box is created by the templates, so it's fully customizable, it's just most people don't bother.
Also, the JW Player WILL work with AME. You don't need a box. You can change the alignment and size just like anything else. You can use their custom skin players. And, it DOES NOT require HTML to be enabled.
I think you're mixing up what the Long Tail site said with what vB.com told you. All the Long Tail site was saying was that if you have knowledge of HTML you can implement the JW player. That's not the same as allowing your users to POST in HTML, which would not at all be required to post a video using AME and the JW Player.
Note that this definition, being that I've done all the back end design, wouldn't even require you to know that much.
