Hey,
I have been admining at a pirated forum for a while, and i finally bought the forum from him and upgraded to a license. I was tired of getting blocked out of all the support and AWESOME code help here. Just wanted to say first of all, thanks. You guys are really gonna help me take my forum to the next level.
What i wanted to do was integrate the ucash system into the blogs system. Allowing users to use ucash to purchase a blog, OR the permission to post to the CMS.
But since i do not want to encourage spammy type posting by offering a known "reward" for making more posts, longer post, ect.
I understand you can set the weights of different factors to discourage shitty posting. i.e. set the good and bad rep point weight and multiplier higher, BUT what i would like to is to have an option where you can hide from the users how much ecash they have.
Really use it like a rating system, to see who has actually earned a blog, or the permissions that they will get.
I would think that with this sytem there would have to be a points breakdown function so that admins or mods (whoever has the permission) can look at a persons ecash account and see how much points were gained for each category. This way you can see if someone who premilinarily "qualifies" for a blog or exclusive permissions really gained their cash in a quality manner.
I really see this as being an effective way you increase board participation and reduce the amount of lurkers. Without basically paying people to spam and write as much junk as possible.
alot of forums are very informational and require content to be on point and decisive. Im affraid if i use ecash as it is that i will be inviting spammers. (plus its a super sweet marijuana niche so i get alot of attention)
Nothing is worse than getting 600 hits a day, and only 20 new posts.
That being said, i think this mod is great. And i also think it is super cool that you guys take the time and code for free so that semi-geeks like me who know nothing of php and code can have proffessional and fully featured and funtional websites.
I love the Open Source REvolution
