Use an ftp client to upload them to your site. Most people create a new folder in the images folder called /styles and then name their style and then put the custom stuff in there. So, if you have a style called 'mine', you would create a folder in /styles/mine called statusicon and put your new images in there. Then go to Styles & Templates > Style Manager > find your style > select StyleVars and go down and change the path in the imagepaths stylevar imgdir_statusicon to your new directory
