It works on some of my vBulletin forums (ones I visits, and two I operate), some of my phpBB forums, and of course, works good on Google results. As you scroll down the page, it loads the subsequent page beneath. I can see how you would use up memory in the browser, but I've found it is a nice plugin when you want to concentrate on reading lengthy topics or lists of search results.

I used AutoPager once, it sucks on MySpace, works great on forums.....some pages are just messed up sometimes. I don't use it anymore.
