I hope this hasn't been asked before, but I couldn't find it.

I'd like to install vB4 Beta on my hosting service server in a different directory and have the Beta run off the same MySQL database and tables as the live site. Is this possible or practical?

This would seem to offer a lot of advantages for testing the Beta with pre-populated tables. Both in style and function. Thanks in advance for your input.
