Once the box is checked, it stays checked, so unless you have a forum for cretins, checking the box by default really shouldn't be necessary. If people are having trouble with staying logged in, it's not that they aren't checking the box; rather, it's that they're having cookie issues.

then maybe on second thought i should not have it...thought it would keep down questions from people always asking why they get logged out
