We have a bouyant and busy forum news section.

However, it would be nice to automate the news.

Basically, I would like to:

a) create a NEWSBOT user.
b) fetch news ( somehow ) from specific sites
c) auto post the news as a New Thread, posted by NEWSBOT

Is this possible, it sounds like RSS is the saviour, but being a bloody noob with rss, and parsing this as a thread.. is beyond me, but I am sure is totally dooable...

Has anyone achieved this ?
If so how so... can you help ?
