Replacement variable for the win! Seriously, once I went ahead and just changed over to .png on most of my graphics, my site was way more smooth.

And since IE no longer has issues with png graphic files, it's just sweet.

Shelley is right, it's worth it to go ahead and just do the replacement rather than go thru the trouble of converting to .gif
