I have an existing ASP.NET site in which user accounts are automatically created via a stored procedure for that site. There are about 17000 users. I use asp.net security to protect the forums from outside users. There could be as many as 100 accounts added daily to the site.

What would be the best option to create the accounts.

1. Add the user directly to the vB user table. I know that the schema could change between versions and I would need to change my script accordingly. Any other reasons not to use this method?

2. Use XML_RPC. I don't want to use this option since users are added via a scheduled job (stored procedure) and I am securing outside access to the forums using asp.net security. Also I don't want to add a single user at a time or try to pass an array of a few thousand users via XML_RPC.

3. SOAP_API - I don't want to use this for the same reason as XML_RPC and it's unsupported.

Any other options/suggestions?
