I?m no coder and I?m trying my best to obey all instructions of installing and using addons severely and thoroughly and I learned a lot. But for me as a non-programmer it is misleading, if I recognize a hack as "supported", install it and stick to be left alone.
If you are saying, private support is given and public one not, I can?t understand the difference in provding the energy of support. Many private questions would be superfluous, if one could read the public answer right before. I for myself don?t want to overwork the answering-capacities of a coder by asking him questions privately.
I do respect for sure, that any thinkable life-event can prevent a coder from giving (public) support and I am grateful for all efforts at this awesome place, but what is the problem to set this very mod to "unsupported"? Or to create a new category "privately supported"?

Lets be honest here, these thread become useless to offer support after a point. While its a couple of pages long people might read the threads but soon its too many pages and most users are either too lazy or too arrogant in the belief their time is more important than the developers so rather than reading the thread they ask questions that have already been answered.
I check the thread every couple of weeks myself but I rarely read all the posts that have been posted between logins as there is too many and they are often repeats

The Dev. of this mod does NOT give support, does NOT login, and therefore this mod is NOT supported. It is as simple as that.
I have released a few old mods that I no longer support but other people reply to other posts... does that mean they're still supported? No.. So stop trying to stick up for this incompetent developer.
The developer of this mod has not fixed any of the problems that many of us have had. The developer of this mod has not logged in for over a month. That means this mod is no longer supported and as such should not be marked that it is. And again, this mod will not install correctly on my server running a full version of the latest VB with PHP5.. therefore there is a problem. Different servers act different ways. Just because it works on yours does not mean it will work on ours.

Its your server thats at fault not the modification. The developer can't be expected to troubleshoot every server issue you are having because you have some strange server setup. I mean if you can't sort your server settings out to get it to work why should he be spending time trying to configure your server especially when he isn't being paid to do so. Its either your or your server admins responsibility.
