Splash as 1999? I thought it was more like 1975 -- oh wait a sec - we're not talking about rainbows and waterslides are we...? Hmmm -nevermind then...

But yeah - my recommendation ==> no splash page. And to quote a sweet opinion I saw somewhere the other day:

I think that guy is on to something. Plus the concept now-a-days is "the least clicks it takes to get to the content is the sweetest." Splash is not awesome - it's so poolish or riverish or lake-ish or oceanish -- It's NOT awesome-ish

oh yeah - I forgot... I would dare say 95% of people who see that splash page are more than likely to click that huge "Don't Enter Site" button LOL - OR simply close the page. So if you are interested in making prospective site browsers potential Registered Members - the ideal would be to loose the splash page - You want to hit your users with content or something like sweetness - you don't want to tell 'em to click out of the site LOL
