I'm trying to figure this out. I"m sure it's something really stupid.

I have a subforum for Articles. I don't want this subforum to show up on my forumhome page, just accessible via links on my navigation menu, so I hid this forum. The issue is that guests can't view the threads when I link directly to them. Does hiding a forum restrict guests from viewing them when linked directly? If so, is there any way around this?
