As what Lynne said i suggest hosting it all through your FTP/Webhost as you have access to it anytime and know its all there. As long as your FTP and Cpanel is safe nothing can delete it other then yourself.

Saying that host all your images, post icons and such through that and the url would be like, www.yoursite.com/images/posticon.png

Or whatever your site is and the name of the post icon.
