Im about ready to switched hosts. Found a good VPS host so im about to switch. Much to my surprise they are moving my site for me for free. After its moved ill update to 3.8.3. But there will be a few days of data missing when I take my new site live. I hope my logic is correct on this. When im ready to make the move I shut down my board.

Then Backup the Home directory and MySQL databases via cPanel backup. Save those backups to my local drive

Restore via Cpanel from my new VPS the Home directory and MySQL databases I just backed up to my local drive from my current host VPS.

Switch DNS name servers at Godaddy and done. I realize there may be up to 72 hours til every one gets propogated to the right site.

Am I good with this.
