I'm still trying to get around the html problem. I think I've figured out a way to use bbcode. I've been experimenting with replacement variables, but with only intermittant success. There's a youtube embedding plugin that I'm going to try and see if it works.

For your request, I think it would be as simple as putting in a conditional in the thread display template (sorry don't remember the name) that would have a drop-down box like under "community" when the new event button is clicked. And you can have the different calendar options there. I've thought about doing the same thing and may code it up in the next month or so.
