Well typically google anaylitics codes are not found in the footer. this could be why you do not see it there

That is usually placed in the header or just above the <body> tag I believe. So its possible that your google code is in your FORUMHOME template maybe.

What exactly are you trying to put into your footer?
What do you mean its obvious its not the one showing on the website? Are you sure you are editing the right footer to the right style? If you have more than one style you may want to check to see that you are editing the right footer. I've done that before being in a hurry and sat there wondering where the heck my edit went LOL.
