before i started on this i just wanted to know if vbulletin could recieve mysql data from an external database and then send that information to a username's profile field.

ill explain it a little bit more:

i have a database with usernames and values set to those usernames. im looking for something to grab those usernames and if they exist in vbulletin usernames then it will add the value assigned to that username in the space below the persons name in a post. (i think its a profile field)
