The option you found is for the online.php page, not the list of users on the forumhome page.

When you do the search, you need to do it for "spider*" not "spider". The * is a wildcard and will give you "spider" and "spiders" in the results. I use this mod - Spiders on ForumHome [NO FILE EDIT]
