Ok, maybe it's just me... but I don't understand the whole CPD thing. I have two files, a the product xml and the readme. All the readme says is "Study the .xml" and then there's a bunch of code.

I know I need it for some of the addons I want for it, which I do want to add, but what exactly is a custom data provider? What exactly am I supposed to study? and where do I put this code?

What exactly do I have to do to get this working so I can use the associated addons?

EDIT: Oops, wrong post, I meant this for the 3.8 addons. Same thing though, so it doesn't matter.
