mmmmm im new so im unsure what you mean sorry

heres my post on the other board :-

i just thought it would be good if users had more control for each section, obviously keep the main search feature, and the new post button on the main site, which does give the ability to bring up all the forums posts, or wot not as a whole, and is a good thing

but also give users the ability to only search each section they want, or to see only top posts for that section, then no 1 would miss out on any posts
also users would not be bombed with posts there not interested in from other sections of the forum, like they are with the way things are set now with VB

i mean just to get to this post here i had to go 4 pages deep, and that was from a search that brought up 100s of post i really didnt need, or where even slightly helpful on wot i was looking for
even if i had to search all the blue line sections here for a certain subject, it would at least make the results alot clearer for each search i did,
because there would not be 100s of results coming in from sections that do not need to be searched by the search feature

as u can see i got pre-sales, server config, announcements, posts that i have no interest in, or need on my searches
also like i said this post was 4 pages deep before i found it
anyway u all know wot i mean, so can it be done, and how much??????

i know about the advanced search
but people are lazy, and want things easy, users who want to get a seach going have to type, then they set the drop menu, and so on

im mainly on about a top 100 posts button for each section, that will only bring up the top 100 posts in that section

i mean my catagorires, or sections are :-






now any 1 interested in just CARDS, and COINS would not want to see HELLOs, and INTROs, in there top 100, nor PEN SPINNING, or ZIPPO LIGHTERS
so would only need to press a button on each section to get the top 100 posts only in them sections they choose, and what interests them as a topic, and theme

i mean the 24hr new post feature on site never shows all the threads threads from yestaday, or days past, so i have to search, or book mark, and so on, with alot of hassle to find that thread i was posting in

but if there was a button on each section, it not only gives me the top 100 posts i want for that section, it also lets me browse down a list, and see the posts that i was posting in, and the 1s that are still active with replies, and getting replies

say a forum had 3 main topics like :-
cartoons, films, holidays

well those interested in films would not want to see cartoons popping up in there top 100, and definitely nothing to do with holidays
this is wot i mean about the top 100 posts

does no 1 think this is a good thing????
