Just an idea (I haven't read this whole topic so pls don't shoot me if this has been suggested already) - how about when you're on the forum index, next to each forum name it tells you how many live topics are currently in each forum? That way ppl looking to have conversation wont have to click all over the forum trying to find threads that are currently live. Just an idea
