I just went through it and if it was any faster I'd be jelous. If you're using IE8 disable the compatibilty setting in tools. In the ACP also is a setting to disable the IE7 header being sent to IE8 users. That sped things up at my place.
Also run your maint programs from the bottom left of the ACP. BE CAREFUL! Some only get run on a have to basis. Have your members having problems run clean up software like ccleaner and the browser cleaning from the tools menu in IE. CCleaner can be got from www.filehippo.com A lot of times problems with forums are on the user end.
