Seems you are the incompetent one yourself because you forgot the main reason:
People who NEED IE6 (like my hosting company), because they have to see how other users, still using IE6 look at their webpage. You can't have a ICT business website online and not support IE6 while it's still out there, because they won't take you serious as hoster or webdesigner if already your homepage looks "strange" (because they are using IE6).

It's a great mod for things like forums and hobby websites.

But it would be better if people would not make that kind of stupid comments without thinking a bit further.

A lot of people are now not supporting IE6 now IE8 is out as it is outdated (including banks and web designers / developers)! There is such a thing called "Technological Progression". People still use IE5, but very,very few people actual support it. If we keep fixing sites to work with older browsers, we will still be supporting IE6 when IE10 comes out! You have to roll with the times and if people are being left behind, it's their own fault.

It's the same argument as people who complain that vista doesn't work on their old outdated PC...
