Ok, found the issue there.

Didn't have any character data added yet so it didn't show the game listed on the left.

Only issue I have now is that I did the template edits as required, but I am not getting the "Character History" link to appear in the userCP. I checked and my usergroup (admin) does have this set to "yes".

I manually went to the link and it let me in though (something you might want to check in the future).
