The errors / warnings in FF error console are present regardless of hooks used, and aren't present when the default style is used (which should also show the chatbox), so they aren't important.

Gah, I uninstalled (deleted files and images, uninstalled the product, reuploaded the files / images, installed the product, and finally re-added the language file) it again, but the problem persists - it doesn't seem to show. I've played around with the settings and permissions, but can't get a handle on what is causing the problem.
