Thanks for your help! The move did propagate, but I found out what the issue was. Turns out the new host already uses some GZIP compression, so I had to turn that on, but to compound that, my AME install was still pointed at the local folder /home/user/new-sweden.com/ whereas my new local folder structure is /home/user/www/Newswede/*

So I uninstalled AME and reinstalled as well as turned off GZIP html and all is well!
