They have been working perfectly until recently. Now the index page does not load...

Database error
The [Site Name] database has encountered a problem.

When I disable blogs it, however, works. I got someone to reinstall them last time and that solved it. But they may have done something else to fix it. Can't get in touch with them so was throwing this out to you guys. It's obviously since I've upgraded but seems a common problem with all versions of the blog.
