If you are getting very little traffic in your forums its not necessary you need a dedicated hosting, Plus $50 a month is far too heavy cost for shared hosting, and you can get a decent shared hosting with decent space and band width for around 5 to 10$ a month and the errors are not due to vbulletin script. I think some people are misguiding you!

first change the server if you are paying $50 a month for this crappy server..
