I'm the worst newbie tech knob ever and I can actually help with this. LOL

Don't give up singa, it's probably something super small that you've overlooked.

I've been there and done that many times. What helps me is stepping away from the computer for a few hours, come back with a fresh mind and set of eyes. Then I usually spot the problem which inevitably is something I missed or screwed up.
