When you try to register on my site, you get this message...

I went in and checked, User registration options/Allow New User Registrations was checked yes. Actually I don't believe I checked that box. zThough I was in the area and I suppose I might have inadvertently checked it.
I've had the "Moderate New Members" in use since fall when the spammers started showing up. THe registering problem started last week.

The problem is I unchecked it and I get the Admin has disabled registration when I try to register
