I've been toying with the search engine on my site. I have a pretty big database of posts and threads, and was trying to dial in the vbulletin internal search engine, but I can't seem to get it. BTW: I've got it set to search thread titles only by default, because it makes more sense to my members b/c most of our threads are car related.

For instance, I know there is a thread labeled exactly "Figuring out .bin files". The "." seems to be messing up the search. When I search for "bin files" and not ".bin files" I don't get the results I want.

I guess I'm just trying to figure out a way to make the search automatically drop "weird" characters from any search, as well as have it do an "AND" then an "OR" search.

Any ideas on how to set vb to ignore special characters in a search? I've tried adding just the chars to the ignore words but that doesn't work.
