Let's consider for a medium forums:
- ~100k post
- 5k-30k members
- 300-750 users (guess + members) online at the same time
- forum is hosted on a shared hosting

This AddOn does not have any additional Queries so it has no more, no less Server Load on any Forums. It's always difficult to say how Serverloads/Bandwiths are used in any Forums. Most Hoster providing special tools so the customers can see what is most frequently used
