This theme is a child of a nearly identical theme, could it be inheriting the dropdown code from the parent style?

The script for the dropdown menu is removed, there's no way you could click it to drop it down.
I'm too lazy to register and look at your site.

This code removes the search button but leaves 'new posts', while although it's a search function it has slightly different functionality.

There is a search box that remains but it's not a dropdown menu so I assumed you wanted to keep it there...correct me if wrong.

It was being inherited from the parent style. It's fixed now
