I like the suggestion. I'm not so keen on the implementation. I'm not a big fan of the graphics being used now as they're rather big and make the postbit that little bit taller on ALL mod threads. As 90% of people replying to a mod have installed it. I think a better idea would be to change the hue of the background of the developers postbit to a different colour. A lot of wordpress blogs use this idea, and it works extremely well. It's far easier to see a difference in contrast when scrolling through a thread, than it is to see this image.
