You've never seen the show "Stupid Criminals" have you.
Guy robs a convenience store but is hungry.. steals popcorn and eats it on the way home several blocks away. Leaves trail of kernals and the cops follow it to his flat.
Another guy steals an ATM machine... not the contents but the entire machine and leaves it in his front yard while he goes to borrow a torch from his buddy. Cops are waiting when he gets home.
Just heard this one today.
Person is carjacked. His BMW has his phone in it. Using a friend's phone, he sends text messages to the criminals arranging a night of illicit drug use and companionship. Criminals give address over text messaging and the cops are alerted.
Oh wait.. you have probably heard this one in the news.
United States Congressional Representative is having an illicit affair with young pages of the same sex. Sends them love emails. Emails are leaked and he is charged with corruption and sexual assault on a minor.
Stupidity seems to run in Criminal circles.
The number one method of terrorist cells to communicate these days are web-based email and cellphone messages. I am sure there are some stupid ones out there that are not using disposable devices or email addresses.

Oh I forget one thing.. If you're really that paranoid and already using PGP to protect your emails, then don't send emails through your ISP. You have a domain, web based interfaces for email are a dime a dozen. Create an email, install web based email software, install a self-signed certificate and PGP and then go to some random URL to send email. The ISP can't record information it doesn't have.
I am not paranoid but don't even know what my ISP assigned email addresses are. I might switch ISPs tomorrow but I want to keep my email address so I use third party email providers.
