Image dimensions and file sizes are only loosely related due to compression variations.

The ability to set image maximum dimensions and file sizes independently in the admin cp is a very nice feature. The software will reduce the quality of images if necessary to achieve a given file size within the dimension limits.

Would you want it any other way?
