First, we'd like to be able to remove members birthdays. How do we go about doing that?

Second, the events that have been added to the calendar do not appear unless one is registered and logged on. We would like the events to appear to guests. How do we make them visible to those who are registered and logged on as well as to guests?

Third, the basic vBulletin calendar is too basic for us and the entries are difficult to read because they are all scrunched together. Are there other calendars to select to use at our site somewhere?

No, there's just the one calendar. You might try searching for a modification though. For instance, one of my forums uses both the
Event Forums and
Event Attendance mods. They're being used in a member's only calendar, so I can't really show how they work.

This is an example of a calendar that seems to have more space-

And, their events are clickable in that when I click on something I am interested in, I go to another page that provides more information on the event. How do we do that?

As for why the layout is so large, I don't know. They are using version 3.5 of vB though and I only started using vB at version 3.6. So maybe the layout between versions changed which condensed everything...? And all events are clickable. They all go to their own page. See the December page of
one of my calendars and you'll see that events are clickable by default.
