In ACP, choose to Forum manager, then choose to edit FORUM (Category) for which you want to have icon.

Near the end of options, you will have option to write icon path (just name of icon with extension)...

Before that, you have to via ftp manager put some icons in forumicons folder (.../forum/images/forumicons/...)
