I've studied the documentation on using the Data Manager to integrate the user database of my existing site with vBulletin. I've also seen posts on this site with examples of extenstions of the Data Manager class.

But still, one question remains:

Can I use the Data Manager to insert data into the custom profile fields?

I want to add all the users from my existing database into vBulletin, wtih custom profile fields filled in (e.g., gender).

Or should I simply use the Data Manager to insert the new users with the standard fields (username, password, email address), and then make my own script to insert the custom profile fields data for each user directly into the vBulletin database?
