Our import script ImpEx (free of charge to our customers) is currently verified against YaBB 2.1. Unless there are many database changes since that version, it should also work probably with 2.2. To be sure about this, please as at vB.com in vBulletin Impex Import System.

Yes it should be possible to convert those post, providing the database has been setup correctly before the import.
