is this possible?

What I'm asking for is a feature/hack/script edit that changes the "Subscribe to this thread" option under "Thread tools" to an "Unsubscribe from this thread" option if an active subscription to that thread exists.

Is there such an animal? Or an easy way to do this?

I found a couple hacks but they either don't add "Unsubscribe" under thread tools or they are for older versions and I'm not too keen on installing 2.x hacks in 3.7.x.
