However for a Facebook/Myspace forums it is definitely 'matching'.

Personally I would go for the use of 'Thread Prefixes' instead of the use of massive sub-forums.
I case you will be continuing the sub-forums, please chance the icon of it to something matching.

Also I suggest do make your header image a link to forumhome.

After this I can only suggest loads and loads of original content
