Auto-Email when moderating users
Ok, with the rash of Bots trying to get registered on my forum I wanted to add another Mod and I'm wondering if one like this exists or if I can do a template mod myself to achieve this.
As well as several other bot and spam-deterring Mods, I have turned on "Moderate New Members" so I can check out a new registree before I allow them on the forum.
What I do is when I see a new registree in the mod queue, I send them an e-mail just asking why they want to join the forum. From the answer (or lack of answer) I can tell easily if the registree is legit or not. I'd like to automate this somewhat.
I'd like that when the registree gets to the mod queue, an e-mail (with text I've chosen) would get sent to that person automatically. If and when their reply, I can read their reply and approve or delete them as necessary.
So all I need some sort of hook that fires off an e-mail to the registree whenever a new registree hits the mod queue. Has this been done or can anyone help me with this?
Thanks!
-Andy.
