Or an alternative title: Google puts a cat amongst the webmaster pigeons
I have just come across the following blog on the Official Google Webmaster Blog:
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogsp...atic-urls.html
Which makes for an interesting read...
In summary and if I understand correctly it would seem that Google would prefer webmasters to use dynamic URLs:
http://blah.com/page.php?p=1&x=foobar&var=22
Rather than a static rewrite URL:
http://blah.com/news/cat-amongst-the-webmaster-pigeons/
This is going to open up a big can of SEO worms
What I find most amusing though is the url of the Google blog, shouldn't it be something like:
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/blog.php?year=2008&month=09&blogid=1234
