I'm using the hook, but I can probably make a manual template. Those ads are from google - they are part of the adsense as I don't have a way to disable them.

Ahh, your site's Search drop down box has been altered. What you can do is create a new default style and copy the contents of the navbar to your normal style and then make whatever changes you need to. This will give you your Search drop-down. (or even easier - click revert on the navbar template - and then go back and make necessary changes).
