Did you also try clearing your browser cache? Also which forum have you changed it for?

It seems to be working for your "feelingblues" skin as it is trying to use the image: http://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/im..._forum_old.gif

To be honest, the easiest way we will be able to see this is to make the skin viewable...

I'm not sure what you mean by "They won't go there by default" but if you look in the template it shows:

So if the skin is set up correctly it should do.
